ATA length - Does it matter?

With today’s new bows and innovations, is there a big sacrifice with going with a 33”-34” inch hunting bow compared to a 36”-38” inch target rig? Im not a tall guy and have a medium draw length (5’9 28.5 inch draw) and I have a Hoyt Alpha X 33 set up right now for target rig and I love it, but Im curious what you guys think if there is a lot being left on the table and a noticeable
difference in stability and forgiveness that you have seen.
